And sales related threads in other sections regardless of whoever posts it should be locked/deleted immediately.

@ axxxr good idea - laffen now has a pm
@whizkid - yes if this was introduced it would mean that any post placed outside the market forums advertising items for sale should be deleted imediately (or moved to the market section if the author has a suffient post count already!) Which is a good thing anyway as it keeps the forum neat and tidy!

I think people are loosing focus here.
ESATO is a website for people to share info, experiences and opinions.

And it's turning into a very "commercial" website. Each time something is made towards the market section, it'll grow, and will make esato a trade forum more than an se community website.

Just my 2 cents (euro)..

maybe trusted sellers names could be in green.and none trusted could be in red so u can see straight away.

and you only become a trusted seller when youve sold a certain amont. say 5 or 10 sales

quote, nice idea. However i dont think that "non-trusted members" should be highlighted in red. They should be left as black. That way users can identify GOOD seller quickly rather than having to avoid bad sellers, if u get what i mean.

The only problem I can see with this is, won't it just increase spamming ? Surely someone who is out to scam people will just post "willy nilly" ( ooh missus ) until they reach the required number of posts to sell !

Just me opinion !

I feel the best defence at the moment is to simply use your common sense.

If anyone's offering a phone at a 'bargain' price, and have recently joined with very few posts, be careful. Ask for pictures with the date and their Esato username on them. If you're a trusted seller with a good feedback, perhaps see if you can get the seller to send the item first and that you will pay on reciept of the goods in satisfactory condition, and point out you've done plenty of trades before and are therefore trustworthy.

A good idea in principle, but a few points I would like to raise ...

How much work would this involve for the moderators? If they have to police the Market forums on a regular basis to weed out those with less than the required number of posts?

Would this stop scammers? Unless the post limit was set reasonably high scammers would simply have to post for a little while until they reached that level. Set the limit too high and one risks alienating genuine sellers.

I think I would agree with Sam in saying that common sense is probably the best approach at the moment.

Perhaps it could be insisted upon that anyone wishing to sell something must provide a picture of it.
