Thanx Lau for the heads up on mrouter3!
I got my browser working again with the old version as it was a problem with a setting that somehow had changed!
I’ve now installed mRouter3 and I got Bluetooth working but I do have a few problems.
Distance is very short, only about 10 feet at best!
When this is reached the connection drops and will not reconnect using the P8.
I then have to re-establish connection from my Bluetooth software from my PC!
Is there a way to reconnect from the phone like a GPRS connection?
Is there a way to get the mRouter3 to auto connect if the connection is broken?
My hardware is IVT BlueSoleil USB dongle. Range 10ft Approx 3m
Can anyone using Bluetooth list their hardware and range they have tested please??
Thanx for any feedback everyone.

Hi
I'm using an AnyCom Blue USB Adapter 240.
It has 100 meters (330 feet) range, but since my P910 has only 10 meter range, it doesn't go much further than that.
When connection falls out of range, all I have to do is to get closer to the computer and it reconnects in one minute or so.
I wouldn't recommend my AnyCom adapter to anyone, since it's doesn't work well with file transfer. Has lots of problems recognising the phone, reconnecting, etc.... BUT somehow mRouter works very good with it!
AnyCom uses special drivers that are not the BT drivers from windows, so I guess that's his advantage & disadvantage.
Have you registered your BT adapter with the P910?
Good luck

Not sure about IR but would be very slow I guess!
BT does work well and is fast & I just got it working, see post above!
mRouter3 is easy to work with but read a few reviews before getting a BT dongle etc... Mine will not work or crashes if Outlook 2002 is running! Otherwise fine!

Thanx Sir AMD, Mrao, GARDAR, _LAU_ for pushing out the details. . . .
BtW> Jabba- have you gotten it to work the other way? That is using P910i GPRS to surf thru lappy? I have WIDCOMM drivers with the Dongle. It does work over 40-50 meters atleast (not with phone, but with each other. I have two of them). Using BT for me is much hassle free. Hope these trick/ ways mentioned would work. Am with the R4A F/Ware on the P9. Still getting to learn it. More comfy with S7, maybe coz its single hand play !

Hey you guys are absolutely tremendous. I looked at the thread on how to connect to internet using the pc/laptop connection. You explain everything so well. One question though.
I am considering, in fact WILL purchase a laptop today. Is there anyway I can look for one that circumvents the need to put a b/t dongle in the usb port. Does a laptop stating it "has bluetooth"mean what I am asking or is this a dumb question.
I would rather ask you knowledgable guys than the service people in the shop.So any quick response would be appreciated as I intend leaving to make the purchase soon.
