I second knight4led's recommendation of an iRiver player, they're definitely quality gadgets.
One thing, you may just want to make sure you either ask the professor's permission to record, or otherwise hide the recorder

, I've heard more than one story of lecturers getting mad at people "stealing" what they consider copyright (their lectures) and smashing the voice recorder on the spot!

I suspect that you have A.D.D. See a specialist

Most memory recollection in the brain, is captured by writting.
Forget recorders. Better yet pay attention in class. People like you, should be in comedy.

Dude,
It is obvious that money is not an object so go with Defensive or get the iPod. I use my iPod for everything. I know the guys at Griffin and they make pretty good stuff. The key is to trust but verify. Before you leave the store, make sure it does what you want it to do. The phone option is a non-stater. By using a dictation device you can edit, archive, etc.... The same holds true with the iPod. People that do not have an iPod tend to knock its features but there are tons of FREE third party software out there that makes the iPod a pretty handy device.
Good luck

If duration of lecture and quality of sound are the issue, I think you have no alternative but to go for a good quality dictaphone... ask any journalist, I'm sure its what they use.
