I was the one to post this last week

We've got exactly the same problem and I still haven't got a clue how to fix it, Total server have credit my account again to try but I'm afraid of trying it because i think it won't make any difference and i'll lose the credit again. have you found a fix?
I think you're right that Total won't work again -- I went down that route too!! -- and I also tried the DaVinci server at
http://www.davinciteam.com, but no joy there either (in fact, once the server had connected to the phone, it somehow deduced that my phone was already unlocked, so did nothing!).
From other posts on other forums, and like gbrooks3 says here, it would seem we've got to do a "rebuild GDFS" on our phones -- but the PBB software doesn't seem to do a good job of it, and now anyway since I tried Total my phone will no longer talk to the PBB app
Other posts have suggested that handing the phone over to SE's service people is the only way forward. I called them yesterday and they said glibly to just send it away to their Oxon service centre -- without any indication of how long it would have to be away for and how much a fix would cost. (And their fix anyway apparently involves total eradication of all that's currently on there.) So personally I want to exhaust all other possibilities before I have to do that!!
I'll keep digging and let you know here if I get any joy -- please do likewise!

I fixed a Vodaphone branded P900 with same 'lock' like this with the good ol' Terminator USB plug and the DIV5 software
it's indeed rebuilding (not reflashing!) the GDFS area
then sim warning disappeared and all worked again
Dunno about P910 tho'
Rebrand it, may do wonders too!
on another note, I had this too last week after a crash, was writing an SMS and all of sudden beep and this message appeared, no reboot helped.
But inserting my backup SIM (same number), that one still worked, so my SIM simply was nuked!
So sometimes the SIM blows...
In any case, any service center should help you out, may cost you a few bucks, but at least you'll have your device back.

I came to the conclusion that I couldn't fix the phone myself. I ended up getting it replaced under insurance. A visit to a service centre is another option.
