Since they only sell one "SonyEricsson" handset, these results are hardly surprising. Delaying the P800 for the addition of the memory stick may have been a big mistake. It is possible that in some markets Ericsson could be withdrawing support just as the P800 is launching!
What I want to know is, why did the T600, etc. take so long. Surely these phones are existing hardware in a new case. Perhaps being greedy and wanting to deplete stocks of existing previous handset stock at higher prices? Each day they do not release a phone, brings them a day closer to the next phone from their competitors...

yessss not easy to be partners and work together, one is from Japan the other is from cold ,dark scandinavia!!! Japan is world-wide known how they are hard-workers they have the disiplin, they so many companies from electronic till cars!!!they are proved with their quality,ERICSSON has been always so slow with producing some-thing new!!!look at the past before T68!!! was only disastare, the phones had very bad Menü and the size and the desighn of the phone everything was old-modisch!!! REMEMBER!!! HOW LONG IT TOOK TO START TO USE T-9 FOR SMS!! AND THEIR PHONES STILL VERY SLOW WITH T-9!!! I am not against to Ericsson,JUST TRUHT !!!! NOKIA WAS VERY GOOD AT THE BEGINING I MEAN UNTILL LAST YEAR; BUT THEN THEY ARE VERY SPOILED WITH THEIR SUCESS!! START TO PRODUCE THE PHONES with less funcktions!!kind of to repeat their products!!MOTOROLA has been always the same level,NO BIG CHANGES!!! there is no compututers against Nokia???samsung with design and battery problems well known!!so what is the future

Only way that :SE: can survive is to reduce its current prices and bring out its products faster than their menus work. As it is the P800 is delayed now I just got news from a friend that the T300 will come out on time but only in limited numbers that wont be enough 2 in around. We would have to wait for the second shipment to arrive in Malaysia then only will there be enough phones to go around. What is the meaning of this ? If they want to capture the youth segment, the T300 should have more curves.

When Kurt Hellstrom made the comments on SE sales, he also said the P800 is to be released september. So far, SE has never officially stated anything other than Q3, so why assume the worst?
SE's problems are related to delays, not poor product, and their main nemesis shouldn't be Nokia, but Siemens, which is first in line to be passed - Personally I can't believe that Siemens sales more phones than SE. They haven't even announced a color-phone yet.

I bef to disagree that se should keep at pace with nokia in producing and releasing its mobile phones in the market. if they will pace with nokia, they will go donw with enron (bankrupt part 2). se have diff. phones and diff. mkting srategy. im with you on all your concerns but dont u think they havenīt thougth of tthat? in regards to ad. and commecials, nokia is earning, thats why tey can pay anyone to display thier phone. the p800 is releaed is not elayed, thier just waiting for the pefect time.

well, if they pirate the marketing and brand manager of nokia, good.
i think SE is just extremely carefull in realeasing/producing mobile phone. SE seems to be a "preffered mobile phone" rather to be the "number one selling".
they have to distinguish themeselves from nokia. (its for kids)

I think they should pirate Ericsson's Industrial Designers... man their new designs are just crap... I will still buy the P800... but only for the functions... and don't give me that "The P800 still has more functions, I don't care if it's ugly" crap... mobile technology has already evolved beyond the features... people WANT A GOOD LOOKING MOBILE DEVICE. If you don't recognize this... then your mobile company is doomed.
