I've tried it (the 10 secs. press of the NO button), but do you do it whilst it's switched ON or OFF? Is there suppose to be any indication than the phone has been reset - like a 'beep' or something? The only time I've noticed it working, was when the phone freezed, and I pressed the NO button for 10 secs. I usually just enter the PIN again when it asks for it. I've also noticed, that once that happens and I enter the PIN again, some functions on the phone is not responding as they should.
I didn't mean that reset... meant the Master reset under the Settings menu...

Ok, I found it. Do I use the 'Reset Settings' option, or the 'Reset All'. What's the code? ...and what information will I loose?

it can work with just "Reset settings" but I recommend you do the "Reset all"... all things you have saved in your phone, including pictures, phonebook, wap bookmarks etc will be deleted when doing a "reset all", so a backup is useful if you don't want to loose anything
The default phone lock code on Ericsson phones are 0000 (four zeros)

Cytech, why do you say that a should do the work? I mean, what does the Reset have to do with all the crashing.
I'm asking this from the technical point of view, since I'd be definitely glad to find out how I can prevent further resets.
10x
P.S. i've just experienced a crash on my first phone-call, after the R5A update, just about 30 mins ago...

T65 is a bit strange when it comes to software updates. Seems like the settings the user has saved in the previous software version, like WAP settings, mail settings, profiles settings etc, are causing problems with the new version, causing it to restart. This is most noticeable after update to R5A010, when entering the WAP menu it takes 2-3 minutes before you can get into the bookmarks, and when you do enter it, it's just a lot of strange symbols (most phones have this problem, but not all).

[Comment on previous post: my mobile has rebooted untill now only OUTSIDE the Wap Section]
Wow.. gues what I found on my mobile!
Call info > Call timers > Last Call >
3:00 sharp...
what should I understand? that my t65 reboots exactly after 3mins? (I haven't actually checked other "Last call time" at the previous reboots, but.. it might have been after a precise number of minutes) If the "precise number of minutes theory works.. that means there's something strange happening every minute?
What could that be.. except for... the minute reminder, appointments check.... I'm not sure if it's >minute reminder>'s problem or not.. but it should be interesting to study. Btw, I have it on... mmm... who doesn't? I'll leave it on to see wether my mobile will reboot again after a precise number of minutes.
with all of this beeing said.. I start asking myself... how can a mobile crash at a simple minute reminder?.. or.. after an exact number of minutes... what does it do to be so.. so... occupied and reboot? Not to mention the times when it reboots without doing anything to it... I simply find it rebooted.
Question: has anybody been using his/her T65 without adding any appointments, tasks or something simmilar? I'm asking this because those T65 might NEVER reboot if there's a bug in the appointments code. BTW, erricsson should implement a debugging mode on it's mobiles.. since the software it's getting complicated, and people can't understand why their mobile crash/reboot.
I would definitely appreciate any professional, constructive oppinion/sugestion. Maybe some Ericsson guy sees this reply and does a check.

I've seen that after the update from R3B007 to R4A007 I've lost some connection information (my Data connection and my Wap connection) but I thought it was simply because the EPROM was completely erased, including the data section. I believed that the PhoneBook & E-mails are stored in other parts, probably they aren't and they occupy the same part in the memory, no matter what the version of the software is.
I have to mention that my mobile wasn't actually rebooting (or I can't remember that) after I bought it (I mean with R3B007) probably because the lack of memory overwrites due to updates. The only thing that astonished me was a crash when I tried to delete a PhoneBook record and I remained with the light on and the question "Are you sure do you want to delete X?" on the screen for several minutes.
After the update to R4A007 I've noticed that my data accounts were gone (but didn't really care because I've seen some changes in the types of connections.. and I thought this was meant to be). Recreated the accounts.. and used happily the mobile until it rebooted for several times one day when I tried to speak to somebody. Yesterday was the TOP.. it rebooted.. I can't count how many times. Today I upgraded the sofware to R5A010 and it rebooted AGAIN.
This last upgrade didn't affect any of my data (nor accounts, nor phonebook entries).. ah.. my only Wap bookmark was gone this time.
And.. I have to mention that I've seen in one of Cytech's posts:
"have you tested doing a master reset after it was upgraded to R5A010? that might help a bit... "
What do you mean by.. a bit?... I mean.. how much will it help? "a bit" is quite relative! I mean, it is really know that this "forget about Reset" is the main cause for reboots, or there is something else? (I say this because after what I've said in the previous post, it might be possible to be timer related reboots)
P.S. I've done a Settings Reset... quite disasterous to my mobile.. since it changed drastically to the same borring mobile I had at the beginning... Hope to fix the reboots. Don't want to reset all.. because the phonebook is absolutely BIIIG.. and quite well organised.

the phone restarts doesn't necessarily have to be software related...
the reset is a test to see if the restarts is caused by old settings from previous versions... I have seen some T65 that still restarts, so it's not sure a master reset resolve it completly, but it is one step ahead...
