i went to add/remove programs> flyakiteos>(somewhere in there was the messenger skin) removed the skin. rebooted and msn was back to normal

there is always a risk when you are editting your system files.
Can't be angry at that.

Anyway, uninstalling and reinstalling Messenger wont delete your custom smilies.

Those who customize their pc, it's because the like the look of the OS and either can't handle learning a new OS OR they can't afford a Mac.
