I suggest you to keep the digital camera and also buy either K750 or W800.
I myself have a 4MP Canon Digital Camera and also a SE W800. What I really like in a real digital camera is, refer to my Canon, its CCD lense and capability of optical zoom, whilst camera of W800 give me only digital zoom...

but doesn't the number of megapixels a camera has only dictate the maximum size of the image, not necessarily the quality?

People get hung up on MP size. The quality of a photo is to do with the optics (lens/shutter mechanism) and the detector (CMOS/CCD). It has very little to do with number of megapixels. In fact, most cheap digital cameras give a false megapixel number in their advertising because they use interpolation to generate extra pixels in the saved image (based on the colour of nearby pixels). The true megapixel value is often far lower and should really reflect the actual number of CCD receptors in the camera.

As I said in a previous reply, my 8-year old Fujifilm 1.5MP camera takes far better pictures than the K750i and my recent Canon Ixus IIs 3.2MP camera! It's down to optics, not megapixels.

If you really want to replace your digital camera with a camera phone, get a Sharp 903. It's got 3.2 MP CCD, optical zoom and decent video recording. I've heard the file sizes aren't too massive, either.

I'd sell the camera.

Sure, the K750i/W800i do not take the ultimate 2mp pictures compared to some cameras, but theres one thing worth mentioning..

All the time larger megapixel cameras are coming out, replacing cameras like your 3.2mp Cybershot. It might be worth selling the Cybershot NOW whilst you still can, or whilst you can still get a decent price for it.

Leave it much longer and nobody in their right mind would give you more than a few quid for it.

I've kept my DSC-T1. It takes 5MP pictures but I regularly vary it from VGA to 5MP depending on my needs and as good a pictures as my K750 takes, I don't have the same versatility as the cybershot

I have the P7 and a W800, if you wanted I could take two comparison pics if you wanted, but the digital camera will probably be better anyway.

Quote:My very old Fuji 1.5MP camera produces far, far better pictures than the K750i's 2MP camera.

this made me laught.

look...i had a Sony P30 1,3 mp camera...i won photo prizes with...now, if i compare daylight photos from k750 and photos from the P30, well, i have to say k750 photos are not worse if not better

http://www.pbase.com/ares/sony_p30

http://www.pbase.com/ares/se_k750i

and sometimes they are also on par with my fuji s5000

k750 photos are on par with point&shoot cameras, in daylight photography...but they loose in 2 situations - when you need optical zoom, and when you donīt have much light

That new 3mp sharp has this problems solved, but in other hand itīs a big brick of a phone
