u need to check the "HTTP" box in order to use Opera Mini, or any Java applications. try it and it will work! If you dont know what i am talking about, follow these instructions:
Settings>Connectivity>Internet settings>Internet Profiles> choose the current profile then 'More' option, then Settings. then change you internet mode to HTTP, click SAVE...
launch Opera...! enjoy!!
making my way to Paris end of Oct!!!

Do the same with Settings for Java, i.e. :
Settings>Connectivity>Settings for Java>Internet Profiles> choose the current profile then 'More' option, then Settings. then change you internet mode to HTTP, click SAVE...

not necessarily. it would depend on what kind of gprs service your operator has enabled for your account. for e.g. i have full web gprs enabled, and opera mini works fine, irrespective of whether i select wap mr html in the internet profile settings.

The inbuilt browser can read most html. xhtml is basically html without any sloppy code. For example all tags must be closed in xhtml (even ones like the br tag), but this means less processing power is required to display the code.
Well coded html websites will usually display fine in the K750 browser.
However HTML is ALL the browser supports. No javascript, java or flash will be viewable by the K750 browser.
The display advantage of opera is that it supports javascript, however it still doesn't support java or flash. The real beauty of Opera though are the gui improvements over the K750 inbuilt browser.
Another big advantage, Opera compresses the code at the server end (the opera server recodes the html and sends it compressed to the opera app on the phone), and uses about 1/5th of the bandwidth of the inbuilt browser, depending on the code.
However, Opera can't save images yet, whereas the K750 inbuilt browser can.
So neither the inbuilt browser nor Opera Mini offer an all in one solution
