i bought my k750i in malaysia 2 years ago.

updated the phone yesterday and when turning on, it says "insert the correct sim card"

is there any solution to this besides sending the phone back to SE authorised dealer?

Hi guys,

First some info;
A Sony Ericsson has 5 different locks not 2.

Secondly a phone will never lock itself just like that. You tried entering wrong unlock code for 5 times or more or you used bad software.

If this is not the case then you have hardware problem.

Btw you can check the status of your locks like this:
Get the phone lock data:

* Type: >*' are left and right menu button; if you have joystick like K750i push down instead of left and up instead of right)
* You will see a new menu now. Choose: 'Service Info'
* You will go into a new menu again, now choose; 'Sim lock'

Best regards,

If your phone is SIM locked, try using the SIMlock patch generator... Generate patch for your MAIN firmware... Then apply the patch using this tutorial:

It is for CID49 though.
