HUH WOW WOW WOW This isn't no led ligh this is the infareds port on .EVERONE HERE TAKE ATV REMOTE AND PUT In INFRONT OF A CAMERA AND JUST PRESS RANDOM BUTTONS U WILL SEE THE REMOTE IR PORT MAKING BRIGHT FLASH, this is the ir port send or waiting for a request.
make sure you have a remote that has a viewable ir led diod insteat of infront of a red panel because it will make it look red.
ANY BODY TESTED IT
srry bout that caps just finished modding over at psphacks and its a mess.

Could be true, i dont know as i dont have the phone but there was a thread a while ago where someone showed this and explained it using a t610's infra-red.

There really is a red LED inside the infra-red window area. I know what others are saying; that it looks like an active IR port but I've set up over 2,500 K750i's and there's an LED that flashes when the battery hits 10% (ish) or less.

Yup, looks like a LOW-Batt indicator here same with the K700i one.
