actually dude, the sest file gets decrypted by the phone for sending. If you send it from the others folder it will get to the computer as a fully installable jar file, or if sent to a phone, will install on that phone.
I just tested both methods, with a game I downloaded OTA (cost $7 but I get to keep the game

), and they work.
So IT IS FULLY POSSIBLE TO BACK UP JAVA APPS on the K750. This is awesome news.

I tried doing that with a tubemap navigator I downloaded but when I go into the other folder and try and send it to my PC via bluetooth, the send function "bluetooth" is greyed out. If I try and press select it says the file is protected...?

The game is DRM'd. Nothing you can do about that. Damn.
I suppose that's to be expected - DRM isn't possible to work around and publishers will wont to protect their content.
I suppose you could try changing the DRM settings for the file with SE's drm packager - you might for example be able to copy the sest file to the computer via explorer (using the phone cable), change it's drm attribute to allow copying, then copy it back to the phone's other folder, then try and send it from the phone.
At this stage most java app vendors don't bother using drm on games, but if phones proliferate like the K750 that have the ability to backup games, you may start to see more drm on games.

I think that DRM violates the fair-use provision of copyright law. We're supposed to be able to back up our data. I think the fact that a Sony customer service rep just told me to do a master reset on my phone (a month-old, malfunctioning phone), with no way of backing up my games, and no offer to compensate me for them, is crazy. My phone malfunctions and I'm expected to just lose my data.
I also think it's crazy that I can't play my itunes songs on my k750i. It's my data. I paid for it.

I think it's crazy you bought anything off itunes, for specifically that reason.

iTunes -> jHymn

removes thr DRM tag so you can play the song on your phone if you so wish.

or just use Emule of course, why anyone would pay a quid for a rights restricted file of piss poor quality I just don't understand.
20p for an MP3 in 320Kbps - that I'd pay.

Well very few I would expect, but millions and millions happily pay the 79p that itms asks. Any store asking £1 would soon go bust.

Hello people! I really like you forum!
I was a Nokia user for 6-7 years, and now i switch to SE
Sorry if i will put my next questions to wrong thread. Please move my question in the right thread.
I have some questions for you.
The first is how can i backup the phone contacts and sms.How can i do that? I have Pc Suite from my phone CD and seems that the only thing that i can do is to browse my phone's files like images, games, applications, but i cannot find my contacts.
Please show me a link or something (if you allready talked about that).
I own a w800i phone and i really like it.
Another problem is that i cannot use BOTH phone contacts and SIM contacts. If i select phone contacts, it uses ONLY phone contacts and NO SIM contacts and the other way, if i use SIM contacts.. no phone contacts displays.
The only solution i found was to COPY my SIM numbers to phone memory.. and that's really bad, but it works.
Anothe question, if it is possible to ask here:
when i dial a 10 digits number, the number is showed in 2 lines on my screen, like:
012345678
9
I heard that there could be a setting that lowers the font or screen resolution. Is this true?
All the numbers in our country contain 10 digits...
Anyway, i hope you can answer me and help me out.
Greetings.

Heres a great Phone manager called MyPhoneExplorer which lets you backup everything from contacts to songs and pictures ( no games or apps though).
