Its not a matter of who produces the best phones - best being a relative term, nor does it matter if the company has many "firsts". The bottomline for SE is how to survive (or capture greater market share.)

It cannot do so by just producing technically superior phones (remember that VHS won over Betamax format), which few people appreciate because this translates to low sales. Producing "exclusive" phones would translate to them charging premium prices.

Most people dont need the fancy technical stuff, they like "friendly" interfaces (again, something subjective), endlessly customizeable (with those affordable cheesy accessories (with 3rd party manufacturers making them ridiculously cheap)), ringtones and logos. They have no need for GPRS, BT, IR, SyncML.

They need to diversify their products, and actively market themselves as the better alternative to whatever is out there.

I really was thinking of buying P800... but it is taking so long I start to doubt my decision... More and more mobiles are being presented and at the time p800 will be release I'm sure there will be other options... By the way... SE, if you're reading this: DO SOMETHING!!! don't anounce great phones and then take ages to release. And give us something great! and useful! =)

The disadvantage of sony ericsson is that they outsource production to flextronix and i believe that's what causes delay in production. In the design aspect, well, most of you had shared their thoughts. This post was posted from a T68i
