salonikat68, much of what Lethal has posted is what we have read here in the US and people in the UK as well. But his last post went a little bit over the line there.
At anyrate, I find it quite silly actually
What are they going to do? Raid your home?
"Stop right there! Let me see your mobile phone. Hmm, you are in procession of 200kb worth of games, the legal limit is 50kb, you're going to jail, for a long time!"

Since games are banned publicly , it doesn't mean that u can't play them privately.
Just order your new games via the net.
Anyway, for those of u (or should I say everyone) , go to
www.petitiononline.com and find one of these petition regarding this law and stop the govenment.
This doen't applies to only Greeks, anyone who feels that its not right can also go there and sign the petition.

First of all I would like to say that I am a columnist for
http://www.in.gr, one of the best informed internet sites in Europe and one of the most-visited in Greece. My intentions are not to be rude but to correct some mistakes others made. There is still a chance to prove that you don’t live in ignorance:
Greek government always wanted to make an attempt to stop internet gambling. This attempt started in 1999 and still goes on. One of the measures taken this month was to close some internet café that was known to act illegal and without permission charging customers for gambling. When the owners of these internet cafes were captured, they were advised that the only way that they could get through this is to make known to the media that ALL games are BANNED. Of course, this is good news for the media that show the ratings grow higher. After all, everyone is searching for a good chance to make a career in a newspaper or a TV channel. So, for 2 days, the media was saying that ALL games are banned. Of course, everyone here in Greece thought of it as a joke and no one gave any special attention.
Now, newspapers in UK and US (and other countries) have reported it as being true. I read it the first day it happed because I can have access to articles before they are released. Many newspapers here in Greece reported it as “bad information” and we all thought that this will be corrected. As we all can see, the rumours now became even bigger. Many articles are written as I write these lines to inform people what really happened, and what really is happening. And of course, many articles are written to continue misleading people and producing again this “bad information” I am speaking of. It is up to you to decide whom to believe.
As you all can see, the whole matter began as a little problem with some internet cafes (but with big interests… big money) and now every one on the internet thinks that knows everything and that he can have an opinion about this. I respect the fact that in the UK (I am in Cardiff now if you want to now) newspapers write about this incident as all the games are banned… and I do not expect it to change… good news is not always correct news… and no newspaper or TV channel will accept the error they made. They will just write no more about this… we were sent several faxes and email (for example by New York Times and BBC) about this, but unfortunately I am not allowed to publish any of these emails because of legal reasons.
Now, about the “don’t go to Greece” thing… tourists are not coming to Greece because of the government. They come because of the island, the sun, the beaches… many have tried in the past to say to people not to go to Greece. In the USA for example, in 1998, several articles were written saying that most of the tourists in Greece get robbed and that they should not go there… One Canadian newspaper even wrote that there is a great possibility of war between Turkey and Greece, and that no one should go to Greece for summer (unfortunately I don’t remember the name but I can try to find it if someone wants it). This Canadian newspaper had the courage to make another article correcting this error (good for them). I have no idea why foreign governments are trying to reduce tourism in Greece. Greece is the first country in Europe that has so many tourists, depending on the size of the county of course, and has the biggest coastline length in Europe. Attempts like those I mentioned had no affect, and of course no affect was expected.
After all, consider a law not allowing the use of mobile phones when you are on vacation… that would be great… no one from my office could reach me… PARADISE… (just a joke of course)
For the Greek people that posted here… an article will be available in greek on Wednesday at
http://www.in.gr (maybe)
FOR ALL THOSE THAT THINK THAT A MAN WAS ARRESTED FOR PLAYING COUTER STRIKE: THIS IS FULLISH...
http://www.counter-strike.pl/ WAS THE FIRST SITE THAT STARTED COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS LAW... AND THATS ALL... NO ONE WAS ARRESTED FOR PLAYING THIS GAME.
With respect to ALL !!!…
The article about this law can be found here:
