@Johnex

I think bijitendra was refering to the fact that you can't upload your own (oversized!) avatars and you can only show huge banners in your signature by applying a little hack

Lol, you dont realise do you.

"i love esato, blah blah"

oh "esato is my first se site"

why are you all so patriotic? its great in terms of coding, laffen has done a brill job but it certainly could have a new menu system, and nicer design.

Max, the light forums are light so that loading time on phones is as fast as possible. This message was posted from a Z1010

@vanquish

Well in my case, it's got nothing to do with loyalty to Esato at all, I just think it's ok the way is it!

Put it this way, there's a lot worse out there...

I rather like Esato's simplicity. I like the fact that it has maintained its consistency over the years too. However, there are a few things that I don't like. I rather wish custom avatars were allowed, these can be restricted in terms of dimensions and files size. I would also like to see those hideous adverts removed, they are an absolute eyesore. If there needs to be advertising then fine, but does it have to be in the middle of posts?

Esato has developed its own look over the years and they should keep to that, although the odd tweak and there is obviously appropriate from time to time.

Like my grandmother use to say:
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

But I guess it would be cool if we could use our own little avatars.

The forums simplicity is one of its best features, makes it easier to read on small screents with slow internet (P9xx! + other phones).

As for the adverts - you try and run a site for free without em - if you clicked on the ads that are out of the way more (the ones on the right) then there wouldn't be need for the ones in the middle of all the posts. Create some money for the sites up-keep - click on a link before you navigate away!
