master reset is no big deal....a little of a pain but I think there is a good chance it will help therefore worth trying.
write down your gprs settings (internet profile and data settings used by the internet profile, and mms data settings), copy all stuff off the phone memory (myphoneexplorer is ideal for this including files, contacts messages etc) and give it a go...

I have tried formatting and master reset before and after updating the firmware, and it doesn't make a difference. I have given up. I'm awaiting a new firmware version before trying again.
Moving a few files at a time seems to be okay, but trying to fill the entire 512 MB card at once almost certainly will fail.
I guess I can send the phone off to a service center to fix it, but then I will be without a phone while it's away, and that's not an option.

34 files, 48 folders, 120 MB right after card was formatted (trying to move 400 MB). Then up to 13 files, 23 folders, 68.6 MB after that. If I try to move too many files after the first try I end up with moving only 3-4 files or none.

That is quite a lot. I tried to move 1 folder with 50 songs about 100MB and only a few were transfered. In what folder did you save it to? MP3 or audio folder? I tired both and same problem.

@arnarn911,
I started with a completely blank card (formatted in windows) and just tried to move a backup I made back onto the card. At first sight I were successful moving all files, but after disconnecting the USB cable there were quite a lot of folders gone inside the MP3 folder.

I bought an USB Card Reader/Writer today and it works to use disc2phone to write to the the mp3 folder on the stick. The w800 can use the files and none has yet disapperad.

That's my workaround in wait of the new firmware...

Using card reader, it works fine even without using disc2phone..
I hope somebody gets a workaround for this bug. I don't wanna take out MS DUO everytime I transfer my MP3's. so much annoying...

transfering with bluetooth although slower has no problem copying.
maybe thats it maybe someone can devise a way to slow down cable so that it doesnt cause corruption, more testing needed!!!
