whenever i go on KLM for work, they say that it is a policy to turn off all electrical devices. The first time i tried to say that i had put the flight mode they said "you can play outside if you want to go outside..."

On cyprus airways and british airways on the other side we can play with our labtop all day long...

I just skimmed this thread and I didn't see any major details about the flight mode.

It's important to note that all you can do is listen to music, nothing else, no games, etc.

When I asked the stewardess, I was told that it was policy not to accept flight mode

They usually bug me if they get to see it. I'll just leave it aside in my pocket and listen all the way. Awesome phone to keep me company no matter where I go and where I am.

Also.. just tell them it's a MP3 player and show them the Walkman logo on the side. LOL!

Stewardass are dumb. No pun intended.

basic rules...read all the online info at sonyericsson homepage before scare the hell out of me.

I thought the phone will explode or something.

All walkman phone/series have the ability to switch off its phone mode so you can use it as an mp3 player at area where phone are not allow...this include plane

In fact I heard some flight attendents also rushing to buy SE walkman phone since the convenient of having mp3 and phone in one device and you still can use it during rest time in the plane

You're not supposed to use ANY electronic devices during take-off and landing and certain other times. Thats nothing to do with the fact that the W800 happens to be a mobile phone.

I've never been challenged about using mine.
