Have you tried a masterreset and a format? And then installing all your programs again. I'm not talking about backup/restore but installing a fresh round of programs

Yep tried it, still the same, I think it must be something like the battery sensor or the o/s of the phone, I've seen quite a few posts on different sites with the same prob and no fixes, thanx for helping.

Just got the phone back now working after a factory flash which included a unlock, now working fine.
Strange though that the fault is still unknown, but I'll keep my eye on it see if it returns.

Based on this I think I'll try a master reset and format and then reinstalling all my progs again - I too have the problem with the battery sudanly empty, when showing ex 54%...
