True, but R1N035 is supposed to be a refined version of previous firmware - but the fact is it's worse in more ways than it is better. I'm on R1L002, which has terrible bluetooth problems, and would love to fix these with R1N035 - but dare not for reasons we all know.

Yes but the memorystick issue might be a side effect after something else was fixed and sometimes these things can really escalade into even bigger problems. Just hold tight and wait for them to work these things out.

I'm on R1L and don't have ANY bluetooth problems.

If you are having problems with multiple bluetooth connections, check the power save setting under bluetooth settings. Powersave for bluetooth limits connections to one at a time.

Also, if you are using the SE phone explorer tool with Mobile Phone Monitor (MPM), forget it! Get myphoneexplorer (http://members.aon.at/fwechsel/) it actually works, whereas SE's MPM is a dogy ho', and makes it look like the phone has bluetooth problems when it really doesn't. This happened with my K700 until I realised that I only had problems when I used either my belkin adapter, or SE Phone Explorer!! Also make sure it's not your dongle (try someone else's). My D-link dongle never falters, whereas my Belkin dongle is a crash monkey from hell (no matter which computer or phone I use it with)

If your BT power save is off, and you have checked your dongle and don't use the SE phone explorer, have master reset your handset just in case the firmware needs "rebedding" (sometimes the firmware gets corrupt and can be fixed with a master reset), then you probably do have the bug. Not saying you don't, but I have never seen this bug in any of the R1L handset's I've used. If you are lucky it is just one of the above problems.

Not casting aspersions on your techo ability, you may have checked that shit already. Just mentioning it incase it helps, and for other dudes who may not actually have firmware problems but it just looks like they do.

I thank you for 1. having bought a Sony Ericsson W800 and 2. for contacting us with a very informative mail regarding the poor service you have received.

Please feel free to contact me directly. Finally hope that beside your problems you will enjoy your W800 after we correct the SW issues as it is the very best we have to offer."

Hola Dan
nice to see that you've made good with the list.
Look, i just had my situation solved today. A guy from SE Brazil just left my office. he brought me a brand-new w800, transferred all my settings to the new phone via bluetooth and tadah, its working again with the old r1L firmware.
well, they had the kindness of giveing me as a gift a beatifull mousepad, a neoprene case for the phone for use when doing sports, and a bluetooth headset. not bad. the guy, who is a technician on the w800, had a w750 upgraded to w800. he told me that SE didnt know about the problem before the moment my email arrived on their mailboxes. he said this is not a bug, but rather a "setting change" on the memorystick management. he said SE will add to their website how to turn-off this setting and have the phone back to work again.

Excellent letter, and gr8 to see you got a hald decent reply from them and not the bog standard.

Here's hoping they do take account of what you said and the next release really is a fix and improvement to the bugs listed.

Has the other guy come through yet??

Sorry to say this, but most of it is false.
SE don't have any technichans in Brazil or Argentina. He is proberly just working in a service center or phone repair center. (which is not employeed by SE).
The MS problem is well known for quite a long time. As soon as a device is returned for a failure, the failure will be examined.
It is a bug, not a changed setting. There will be no info about it on SE website, simply cause it can't be fixed without full/partial flash of the phone. (and how often have anyone seen a bug report or change history from SE?)
However, new firmware that will fix the problem, among others, will arrive very soon. Stay patient, it will be available via SEUS and at Your local service center.

About buggy software; Well, I can promise You that the software is going through a lot of testing, but bugs can always slip through. It is impossible to create a bug free software. That is the case with all software!
Sadly there were some quite big bugs introduced in R1L and R1N, lets just hope that R1AA will be spared.

hello SE employee.

doesnt matter if its a SE technician or not. indeed he wasnt (i found that out later), its a third party company that provides service to SE.
anyway, he brought me a solution thru a new phone without this bug. as you said, there are others. i showed one to this guy here at the office, by the way.

One of the guys i taked at SE (yes, he is an employee of SE, at least he signs his email as Latin America CCC Manager and IS/IT Coordinator
), said a new release will be available only by week 48, not before.

anyway, i am glad to see that you guys @ SE are finally reading what your consumers write. it shouldnt be necessary to write a msg to your president for having you guys doing so.

cheers

Well, some Fabio Juvencio wrote me an email yesterday telling me that they were trying to reach me to the cell number I left and that it was wrong (which wasn't), so I'm still waiting for them to contact me.

For the name (Juvencio), I think he might me portuguese...

@cloroforme:

May it be the same guy you talked to? Since his signature is:

Fábio de Castro Juvêncio
Latin America CCC Manager and IS/IT Coordinator
