ok at work today i did i scientific evaluation, checked the battery each hour with it minimised and un-minimised, and a found...
the phone uses 8% battery each hour with the mp3 player on (otherwise idle), whether the player is minimised or not.

I think the lcd display that drains the batt the most, not the media player. So if u want to turn on media player, use the play/pause button so the screen still at the power save position.

I have read in many forums that w800i has better playback life.. I am using w800 and very happy. Hv no idea about k750 battery.

W800i has better playback life when used in flight mode, this is due to the phone being switched off so to speak and only the media player being used.
But your comment off battery in the W800i is better is ridiculus eheh, as they use the same batteries so there will be no difference whatsoever!
