yeah, the exchange rate is very crummy for me sending money back at the mo. it was up around $2.60-$2.80 to the pound for ages and ages and now its around $2.35
mind you, I have seen it as low as $1.75 a few years back.
two things I dislike (I don't use hate much) about australia... the goverment (but then I dislike them everywhere) and the fact that I ain't there, (though that will change in a year or so) especially now summer is coming!

Over the top political correctness. This country seems to get more and more ridiculas each time i read the news. Political correctness is a good thing, but not to the extreme.

A couple of reasons why I dislike hate is too strong a word) South Africa.
The price of cellphones, we're seriously being ripped off here when I see UK prices...we pay about 10% more sans branding and network locking.
People who are unwilling to change i.e racism...why can't they just all emigrate to Australia...now there's a country that knows about whingeing.
Property prices are ridiculous especially in Cape Town then again I'm glad I'm not living in England where the only property I'd be able to afford would be 30 miles outside the city.
Violent crime...really pisses me off when I hear on the news that a child had been abducted and violently raped.
Crime, the fact that you have to vigilant all the time.
The wage gap, we've got a widening gap which is a big factor in crime because there's a lots of rich people in this society and even more poor people who are just scraping by.
The fact that we don't have a of a social security safety net, if you're fu*ked, you're f*cked...the man ain't going to come and save your ass( which is kinda of a motivating factor not to get fu*ked in the first place)

By the way, if anyone wounders why petrol is so much in the uk heres why...
If a litre of unleaded petrol costs 85p, then 63.5p is tax! (Duty and VAT)
