Faca has a point, the P800 looks like being late, and a few of the people in this forum who have played with beta versions had them crash.
But this is hardly unexpected, just a little disappointing. I'm sure when we finally get the thing, all will be forgiven... except by faca... because he's not getting one of course.

In your last post you confirm that everything you say is a complete supposition! "That seems to be causing them"
Huh? You've lost me...

I think

will understand very well that as 3G networks start appearing in early 2003, they will have a hard job selling a very expensive 2/2.5G phone...
With a bit of luck Europe will get it before Christmas, releasing it after Christmas would be suicidal (think how many people would have the P800 on their Christmas wishlist, if it's not around they'll get something else instead).
I think that they have known about these delays for a few months and the story about Ericsson getting cold feet was a direct result of the

screw up with the P800. Why they keep tellinging people like Expansys and Carphone Warehouse that it will be out in a few weeks is beyond me, but they do seem to hate giving any negative info. The website and the MobilityWorld developer forums (when they were still running) never contained the merest sniff of a delay,.

That's right. It all starts to make sense now as we were all surprised at the criticism Ericsson published a few weeks ago. Obviously it has something to do with the delay in thet P800.
If they are unable to deliver before year's end, I'm afraid they might as well cancel it as Nokia will launch their alternative Q1 2003.
Ericsson and SE must have put in about 2 years of planning on this device now and it must be frustrating of not being able to finalize it.
What I hate most is their silence...

I am afraid it is right that P800 crashes all the time because all the three samples they had in CEBIT Eurasia Istanbul crashed when I tried to load a game, watch the video clip, or get into the internet and some other applications. I am assuming that they would have had the latest and bugfree versions in the fair if they had solved the problem, don't you agree? Well I don't know you but I would rather wait a bit longer and get a bugfree and stable phone! And 32MB of MSduo and other surprises would be nice also!

If SonyEricsson is going to wait till 2003 here's what they should do:
1. give a bigger memory card (32 or 64mb)
2. swich the camera to video camera
3. put
another video camera in the front and make the mobile compatible with UMTS (3G).
4. put in the box all the acessories (including a bluetooth headset)
5. lower the price!
6. (and most important) Tell people what they're doing, what they're thinking, and when is it going to be released!

I went to London the other day and had a play around with the P800 they have in the cpw opposite john lewis and the guy (who actually had a lot of knowledge on the P800 and bluetooth etc) told me that it will be released at the end of october and that SE told him that it will come with an app that lets you use it as a video camera!

Looks like it will come with a 32 now
2. swich the camera to video camera
Agreed!
3. put

Come on, do you ever want to see this phone?! That will probably push the launch til after the next Star Wars film!
4. put in the box all the acessories (including a bluetooth headset)
Have Sony ever been known to do something like that when thay can make huge money by selling it to you later?!
5. lower the price!
Fingers Crossed!
6. (and most important) Tell people what they're doing, what they're thinking, and when is it going to be released!
True!
