Btw, I believe a Q-tip is American for a cotton bud, just to confirm?

Someone please correct me if otherwise!

Whenever my camera lens looks dirty, I exhale heavily (thru the mouth) over it, thus causing a bit of condensation on it, and immediately clean softly with a cotton bud.

Hope this helps or amuses some people.

At least in the K750 the so-called outer "lens" itself (which really is just a piece of coated plastic) is actually stuck on to the camera module itself with a ring of adhesive.

If dirt gets onto the underside, it's possible to pry off the lens with a penknife and a *little* lighter fluid, which I did, and then clean it. But the trouble after that was that I decided to clean everything else, and so I let loose on the exposed insides of the camera module with a can of electronic cleaning solvent.

After reassembly, the autofocus didn't work. The thing would just pause for a couple of seconds before going "bi-bip", as if it were actually focussing, but you wouldn't see the image sharpening and blurring.

So I've now a K750i lying in pieces in my drawer

Thanks dimenxian for that expose. evidently we can conclude that my exhaling method (irrespective of which end the vapours emanate) works best.
