Sorry If I burst anyones bubbles, especially those W800 owners, who really really wants their W800 to be a litle bit more special than the K750, but there are no difference in buildquality what so ever on K750 and W800 - neither in hardware or cover or anything else - only difference is design (design of cover, keypad, buttons and joystick) and firmware. Everything underneath is exactly the same.

Hardware and build of hardware underneath cover are 112% identical, including joystickmechanism. There are no differences at all. Only design of the actual joystick differs slightly with the color and the orange dot on the W800, but its only exterior difference, the joystick mechanism are exactly the same. To say there are differences in quality would be like saying an orange shirtbutton works better than a black shirtbutton.

Materials used for casing, both in regards to plastic, painting etc. are also identical. Only different designs and colors.

They all leave the same manufacturinglines as basehardware, then at the end of the line turn right for assembly with W800 covering and turn left for K750 covering, and final firmwareinstallation and packaging.

Naturally there are individual differences in buildquality from phone to phone, depending on assemblyline and employes at that assemblyline, but that is differences between individual phones, not between the K750 and the W800

Some K750 may be better build than another W800 or the other way around. This is totally random and has nothing to do with it being a K750 or a W800.

What are you on about? They are exactly the same weight, w800i, k750i. The outer casing maybe tougher on the W800i, but all of the internal bits like the Cam, Keypad, joystick etc. are exactly the same

mmmmmm, maybe so but holding both phones in either hand the w800 certainly feels lighter......

Oh well

One of the major differences between the phones is how the lens cover is designed......the huge sliding cover of the k750i is creaky and hence induces a general sense of insecurity in users about build quality.
Apart from that there are no differences(that i'm aware of) which may lead anyone to conclude that the phones differ in build quality.
Even this issue can be tackled by replacing the housing of the k750 with that from w800 however overall i feel that the k750i looks much better that w800(includind the camera cover which gives it a more digicam-ish look) so i guess the creak i'll just have to live with........you win some, you lose some

EDIT: Oh and btw se did make a reliable joystick with the s700's

I wouldn't say the S700i has comparable joystick to the K750i or W800i, it has more of a rocker pad/thumbpad, and it really is the best design ever!! Infact IMO the S700i is probably the best made in a long while - real sturdy

Hmmm...yup true! I really like the way that thing works on the likes of the s700,w550 etc. Sad that due to size constraints we most probably wouldnt get to see it on non-swivel se phones.

Question:

If joystick breaks down under warranty coverage... does SE repairs / changes it?

And after warranty? Anyone's experience? How much does it cost?

Tak!
