Just received mine... Quick overview...

It comes with a non-SE style 5v, 500ma mains charger that plugs into the sphere. This not only powers the speakers but also charges the phone. A blue LED lights up above the right speaker once the power button is depressed.

The USB port is used for sync'ing - cable supplied. There's also a line-in 3.5mm plug for other music sources.

My K750i sits nicely within the sphere. Unlike SE cradles, the phone also rests against the back of the sphere - and as some people know already the fastport connector is not the most reliable connector in the world so anything that supports the phone is welcome.

What does it sound like? Well, its like a pair of small powered speakers you can get for other audio devices - okay. The speakers don't vibrate at max volume and its loud enough to be heard in another room. HOWEVER, and this might just be my K750i - there's a weird ticking noise coming from the speakers that's not noticable when you're playing anything loud but is distracting when music is fading in or out.

One minor gripe is the lack of a 3.5mm headphone socket.

All in all, it is solid and well built - pity there's not a black one to match my K750i! But it does seem a bit open to interferance from the phone, but only with quiet tunes...

Can you take a phone call while its docked and if so do you hear the caller through the speakers. Does it sound good on both ends of the conversation?

When you dock the phone in the sphere, the phone switches to "Port Handsfree" profile. It looks like if the unit is switched on then the audio is transferred to the speakers during a call as I've tried a few 1471's and the speech is heard from the speakers.

As for first impressions, well I gave those in an earlier post: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=110382&start=12
