Google account and gmail account are not the same. If you have gmail account, same userid passwd can be used in google accounts but not vice versa. For gmail u still need an invitation.

It depends on ur gprs settings. Your service provider may be blocking the secure ports used by gmail. Do you see any proxy configuration in ur gprs settings ? if so u may not be able to access gmail.

I have the same problem as scorpio , it asks me to enable cookies ,even though i have activated them,i have tried clearing the cookies,enable and disable them.

I tried it on t39 which support wap over GPRS but it didnt work.
Then I tested with the wap browser on my palm and it didn't work either.
On k700 it did work though.
