They're not using two different standards are they? 802.11b and 802.11g?

Got this from the web site

"Wireless Communication: IEEE 802.11 and Nintendo's proprietary format; wireless range is 30 to 100 feet, depending on circumstances; multiple users can play multiplayer games using just one DS game card"

My router is a 802.11g (i think) but arnt the 2 able 2 work 2gether?

'IEEE 802.11 and Nintendo's proprietary format'

I think this could be the issue, if your router doesn't support Nintendo's proprietary format (whatever that is!) then it would explain everything.

I'm only guessing though

Set it to 802.11b, not mixed mode, as that's what the DS will work with.

(The Proprietary format is the one used by the USB dongle)

The only other thing I can think of is to try it with somebody else's wireless router, if at all possible. It's strange that it won't even pick up the wireless signal, normally incompatible devices can detect the signal but not 'talk' to the router.

Faulty DS maybe?

theres nothing wrong with your ds, Your router dont seem to be comaptable with the ds. You need to buy the Nintendo ds adapter.

http://www.nintendowifi.com/customersupport/supportedRouters.do theres only one the same make as yours so you might need to upgrade your firmware.
