It works on Voda UK on a P910i, so therefore it should work on any other network. It only uses GPRS to send and receive.

Nope, this is 100% fallacious. Just because it works on Vodafone UK does not mean it will definitely work on all other networks. It MAY or MAY NOT work on other networks. Vodafone is currently the best network in the UK, so that doesnt mean everyone else is the best too does it?

If PTT can be enabled on a P910i, there is no reason why the same cant be done on the P900. If the P910i worked on Vodafone UK, then I suggest trying the P900 on Vodafone as well. Only then, can one ascertain, whether or not other networks support it, or if it is a handset issue, etc.

EDIT: miss uk,

No, PTT requires GPRS. It will definitely NOT WORK on HSCSD (aka dial up wap)

@mamtaj, no. This won't work at all in India. So it doesn't matter which phone you have...6680 or P9..

IT WORKED just as it should on my p900 in Mumbai/India on Airtel. I stopped using it because nobody else I knew was using it.. and when i tried talking to unknown people (mostly everybody looks out for a girl to chat to ... i did that as well, with no luck)...some guys changed the conversation quickly to umm..homos$%$%lity... so i stopped using it...Its been some time since then (few months I guess)...

isherdholi claimed:
... Vodafone is currently the best network in the UK

Says who?

I'd be interested to see some evidence of that assertion.

And what do you mean by "best" anyway? Best in what regard?
