I hope Sharon survives; I'd like to see him tried for Crimes Against Humanity (see Sabra and Shatila massacre).

you guys do have your history right, in many countries (obviously not western countries) Isreal isn't recognized and isn't even on any maps.

It's a pitty that such problems have to happen. Imagine if the UN threw in other people into your country and then when you fought back to resist it, nobody helped, nobody said anything and some supported those who took your land.

I have nothing against Israelis, I wouldnt like ANY country to be taken over by other people.

Yeh basically thats true there is no such thing as Israel...It is really Palestine and was Palestine for over 2000 years until about 50 years ago when their country was stolen from them and became Israel...If that is legal then i'll invade the U.S tomorrow and kick everyone out and call it my own land..My reason will be because my god told me so its mine now.

Sounds like what happened when the turks invaded Cyprus (I think in the 70’s).

This is terribly BAD! Sharon went under the knife . . . I am NOT certain if he can still recover after that The ONE succeeding HIM assumed office, so that there will be STILL a working Israel Goverment . . . Let's just PRAY !

Sharon used to be one of the worst warmongers in the place but the last couple of years he's followed a more moderate route which culminated in the withdrawel of settlers from the occupied lands.

Anyone who suggests Nethanyahu as the next leader of Israel should have his head checked, this guy is the most fascist politician in Israel today. He is as bad as the terrorists the Israeli government is claiming to be fighting.

Tell that to the people of the West Bank and the Golan Heights.

I have absolutely no sympathy for Sharon, his death if he were to die would be an easy way out for him,i actually hope that he survives this and suffers more.

There will never be peace in the middle east until a fully Sovereign Palestinian state is created,Israeli people need to stand up and rise against their leaders and demand an end to a war against the occupied and oppressed palestinians. Its better in the long run for Israel,if they ever want to be accepted in the world.

I think the Prime Minister will not make it . . . We do have a similar situation here at my end, wherein a goverment official suffered the very same attack, though this one did NOT go under operation, though he lasted for ALMOST a month in the hospital, and died afterwards. Looks like the same FATE will occur here I was surprised to know that Sharon is 77 years old now, looks younger to me (I thought he is just - 76 . . .). stands at 5'7" and weighs - 300 lbs :eek
