Survival of the fittest

. After all were just animals like the rest of the animal kingdom. And we’ve inherited this need for territory from our past.
Im sure every other country/goverment in the world wouldnt say no to the power that the yanks have would they?

@AXXXR - im on your side, although i dont necessarily agree with all your posts/opinions, i feel we are all entitled to our own opinions.... for me, axxxr provides some very interesting threads and i for one would miss them.....
Hes got a point in that, if you dont like what hes posting, dont read them.... why are some people so bitchy towards others posts?
Personally, i dont read the p900 forums.... because it doesnt interest me ( and i dont own a p900 - and never will)... you dont see me going into it and saying its pointless etc.... leave the poor guy alone and let him excerise his right in freedom of speech!
keep up the good work axxxr!

You take a rather belligerent tone in reporting this (pun very much intended). Plan Red was more an exercise in military planning than anything else. It was in fact a plan for a war with the British Empire, which was the red in the plan's name. Where the UK was designated as 'red' in the plan, Canada was 'crimson' and Australia and New Zealand were 'scarlet'.
Britain was, in the 1920s and 30s, still the most powerful nation in the world and as such would have been a prime candidate for the military plans of most of the other advanced/powerful nations of the world. I remember one of the professors at university telling me that the American navy was almost obsessed with plans for a battle with the Royal Navy. That doesn't mean that such a scenario was likely, just that it was something they used in their planning, which would make sense since the Royal Navy was the most powerful navy at the time. If one is going to plan a naval battle to train one's planners and officers it might as well be against the most powerful navy.
Other U.S. military plans at this time included Plan Orange, which dealth with a possible war against Japan; Plan White dealt with an uprising within America; Plan Gray concerned the invasion of a Caribbean state; Purple concerned either a Central American nation or Russia; Green was a plan for invading Mexico; Gold was a plan for a war with France and French Caribbean posessions; Plan Black dealt with a war with Germany; Indigo was a plan to invade Iceland (which was occupied by American troops in 1941 after having relieved British forces after the fall of Denmark); Brown dealt with an uprising in the Philippines and Plan Yellow concerned a war in China during the Sino-Japanese War.
There was also a combined Red-Orange plan because of the Anglo-Japanese Alliance, but that ended in 1924.
Plans for another war with Germany were unpopular when they were revealed to the public and it isn't unreasonable to wonder whether this then led the American military to use more hypothetical scenarios for their planning. Plan Orange is the most extensive and detailed of all the plans and this is arguably a reflection over the more realistic nature of a war between the U.S. and Japan rather than between the U.S. and the British Empire or France, for example.
Other countries would have had similar plans of their own, in fact the Canadians had a plan to attack the U.S., which was drawn up in 1921. The intention of the plan was to buy enough time for imperial forces to arrive from other parts of the Empire in a war against America.
It's hardly a 'revelation' since the plan to invade Canada was made public in the early 1970s and has been said before it was largely hypothetical. It might be useful in future not to invest so much of your personal opinion in the actual post reporting a story, but rather be as objective as possible and save your personal opinion for a later post so that people can read the story with as little bias as possible. Military planning for various scenarios is quite common and it should not be taken to mean that the plan is ever actually intended to be used. A testament to this is the fact that juniour officers were sometimes tasked with updating them; one would expect the top brass to be taking charge of serious war plans.

Thanks for your in depth historical view of this, certainly sheds light on military history i was'nt aware of.
If i was being belligerent in reporting this then that was very much my intention,As you know i always report any political stories relating to the U.S from a personal opinion, this is not a political forum or a mobile related topic that i have be objective and precise..The main idea is to have fun with the topics,if it means giving ones personal opinion to a story then its ok.

But then that isn't really reporting then is it? It's more akin to an editorial or arguably even propoganda. Not having to be 'objective and precise' doesn't exactly scream good reporting now does it?
Incidentally, if you wish to be belligerent then perhaps you should make sure of the facts first and foremost so that your belligerency has some basis.

Well it isn't really a news report as such anyway, well propaganda?maybe.

..axxxr's the name,anti-americanism is the game.
When it come to political reporting don't expect it to be hardcore in-depth and objective..My speciality is in mobiles and Gadgets, politics just fills the gaps when im bored.

..not to bothered about getting precise as long as people get a good idea and the jist of the story thats good enough for me.
