Even if there would be a such java application, then it would be very easy to close it, as you can close any other applciations or games(on symbians thease applications can be hidden etc). And you can run only one java application at a time(well.. at least its like that on my W800i), so you would have to end this SMS filtering application to run any other application or a game. Aaand you can't use camera while java application is running.

The Java implementation in SE phones does not allow this kind of file system access. With it being a bespoke OS there would have to be specific API's for accessing the SMS functions of the phone of which I don't think there is, not for what you want anyway.

hmm.. wait a minute... SE J2ME SDK says, that new phones(k750 etc.) have a new feature which allows to make java applications to be trigered by SMS and other events. So actualy it's possible to make such application which hides(or moves them to some kind of java seacret temp storage) when SMS is recived(and you won't have to run it by yourself... you would have to just install it).

Although nobody has made an application like that

MumSms has some bugs which makes the program useless most of the times.If u guys get urself a Symbian phones, try SMS Spam Manager which does what Mumsms fails to. This message was posted from a WAP device

To move the messages you'd access to the file system. To hide messages you'd have to view them with the Java app to hide selected ones. They'd always be visible in the file systems SMS viewer as you would not be able to move them. If SE made API's that gave write access to the file system in area like that you'd have all kinds of trouble.
