WTF all these P990 killers. Nothing will kill P990, none device have killed P910 yett.

ET-980 will only be released in asia, no WI-FI and no UMTS. Nice phone, just great. will kill every phone on the market, even siemens A65.

The only P990 killer you'll get is a sledgehammer.

I kinda like the look of this phone, but the fact that it has windoms mobile is a turnoff for me. I want symbian because it is more stabile and reliable. I want my P990 now.....

Ok is not a symbian/3G phone but apart of that look at all the other specs and form factor. Is certainly ways above the P910i and WM5 is only second to the S60. Unfortunately the 'new' P990 runs on a proprietary OS interface (althou the OS itself is Symbian) with no existent applications whatsoever ! Now I know C++ and Symbian (S60 interface thou) and believe it or not I bothered to have a look at the new UIQ3 dev. kit.The software is not 'transferable' from earlier versions and will be difficult to 'crack' too ! Read the last sentence again ! SE will smile with every P990 sold. And lastly, I can't understand why some 'clever' chaps talk about non smart phones in a clearly smart phone tread :-( Greetings from South Africa. Mario. This message was posted from a Nokia 7650

Anyway I prefer Symbian over Windows Mobile - don't know Linux liability. The other ones I know from experience.

Well software that was witten for many types of phones will probably have code that has a simple-to-replace layer for the api anyways... porting the software should be just like porting it to any other phone, the not smalltime developers are surely prepared for it. Plus, they did have plenty of time. I wouldn't really worry about this aspect.
Not to mention it will still run all your favourite java crap :)

How about this one?
http://www.gsmarena.com/news-detail153.php

Except the fact that it has only a 240 x 240 pixels display and it has Win Mobile 2005, it is a serious competitor for P900.
Also it has GPS and Bluetooth 2.0, we don't know nothing yet about P990's bluetooth.
I am not saying that is better then P990, but they will be several real competitors for P990 in the market
