I don't do reading really but the best two books i read were:

The indian in the cupboard when i was littlen were the plastic toy indian comes alive and a child called it, very good book but a horrible story of child abuse could not put it down.

Think there the only things i have ever read

I'm surprised no one's mentioned JRR Tolkien yet! The Lord of the Rings books (well, technically, book!) and The Hobbit are simply brilliant. Transports you to another place and totally envolopes you (if you can get into it, I think it's either a love or hate these book/s).

Currently reading The Silmarillion, found that very hard to get into but enjoying it now.

I just read the hitchhicker's guide to the galaxy trilogy. It took me about six days to read the five books. Of course LOTR is the best. I enjoy most books I read and the exceptions are mostly textbooks. :-p This message was posted from a T630

Yeh most ppl i know that have read the hobbit and LOR love those two...Sadly I just don't have the mental capacity to comprehend it, I think I need to watch the movies. I'm not to keen on fantasy / sci fi stuff , mind you some terry prachett (don't think i spelt that right) stuff is quite funny.

Ulysses by James Joyce is excellent. There are so many layers to it, that it really is quite amazing. Essentially, the entire novel takes place during the course of one day. Ulysses, takes Homer's Odyssey and sets it in (the then) contemporary Dublin. I don't want to spoil it for you, but it really is worth reading. If you aren't quite ready for Ulysses, then you could try Joyce's collection of short stories: Dubliners.
