I don't like this phone one little bit, nice build but thats where ends for me..don't know what people see in this very badly designed handset?..I thought Nokia would do something special after the excellent 8850/90 but no the series has lost its appeal now, unless nokia bring out a better line of 8800 series phones.

right well I'm on the train having grabbed the 8800 and the headset on my way out the door. I like to listen to the radio on my journey to the office.

I am miffed to find that not only do they not supply a data cable but the headset is a single ear headset only so no way am I going to use the 8800 for my radio listening pleasure with that. Thankfully I have my trusty K750 with me!

If I had paid sim free prices of over 500 pounds for this only to find missing items as basic as these I would be very very upset

no thats not correct. While in a call you can use the left and right buttons on the joypad to change the in call volume

@masseur, when you get the chance would you take a picture or two outside in daylight so I can see how the 8800 performs ?

I tried to get out for a walk a couple of times today but its was a right miserable day in London with rain most of the time

so, here are a couple of pics of the foyer of the building I work in and the street outside. actually not too bad for snapshots taken at SVGA resolution

interesting to see that Expansys have the 8910i as their "special of the day" reduced from £284.95 to just £249.95.

its amazing that that phone (the 8800 predecessor I guess) is still such a high priced phone!

I wonder if the 8800 will keep its value like that too!

yeh it probably will keep it's value I mean even second hand 8910i handsets are still quite expensive, especially those in good condition... I hope you've got insurance!

yeah, thats where I am currently contracting.

Well in the 3 weeks I had the V3i I used it maybe half a dozen times. It was never going to be my primary phone and I saw that prices were already falling quickly.

So I fugured I'd had my play and I would return it for a full refund and maybe get one in a few months when the prices are right down.

In the meantime I have the 8800 which may last with me a couple of weeks and then I plan to checkout the i-mate SP5 and by then the P990 will not be far away... and after that... who knows?
