I know what you mean. I would stay where you are if I was you, he he he.
Using the DAB spectrum seems the simplest idea to me too, rather than downloading tonnes of data from a network which is patchy in most areas anyway. And of course, this would be available to more handsets in more areas. Do you think it might be as simple as downloading a java application on to your handset, the way you might download the cnn/mobile application onto your phone? I hope so.

Last week a 3G mobile tv service was launched here, similiar to the one offered by Vodafone.
Catch though is that you'd have to pay just under £1/day to watch a channel.

Orange UK are charging just £10 per month for 16 channels.
I am not sure if that includes data usage though, I can't find any info on the website

Location Free TV wont cost a penny. At least not once u've got the setup sorted. PSP/Loctation Free SE phone plus a decorder box thingy. Or instead you could use a PS3 as thats gonna have built in Location Free TV features to link in with the PSP or other Location Free device.
Any more news on when the first Location Free TV phone will be out ? Im very very intrested in geting one of these ?

Ericsson enabled easy channel surfing for Mobile TV by introducing client software that offers an attractive channel selector for mobile handsets. The new channel selector offers the quickest channel switching on the market and easy access to a list of available channels.
As Mobile TV is quickly becoming an important subscriber service, this facilitates operators to generate new revenues in addition to existing services. Mobile operators and media companies all over the world are today introducing Mobile TV services, in form of schedule based TV channels as well as on-demand TV programs.
Studies from Ericsson Consumer and Enterprise Lab show that the average time spent on watching each mobile TV program will be shorter compared to traditional TV. Therefore a fast channel switching mechanism is of great importance to enable a swift zapping between channels.
The channel selector provides a familiar and easy experience for the consumer as the handset can be used similar to how channels are switched with a remote control. When switching to a new channel via the Ericsson Mobile TV client the channel is visible on the mobile screen in less than 3 seconds.
