I had an Ericsson T28 & an Ericsson T68, never any problem with either. Since they became SonyEricsson I've had a T610, K700 and now a W800. I had 6 T610 handsets & 5 SIMs before Orange set me up with one of each that worked perfectly together, I had 3 K700s before getting a good one and I'm sure I would've had more than my defective first W800 if my network hadn't been out of stock for the last three months. Whatever Sony brought, other than cash when ericsson was in the poo, it wasn't quality.

@sasha-SE: Are you blind? What is this then?

Here you can read about the 100% Ericsson owned company Ericsson Mobile Platforms AB that makes all hw and sw for
Handset manufacturers like , NEC , LG and Samsung license their mobile platforms from Ericsson Mobile Platforms AB...

Here you can read about Ericsson Technology Licensing AB that licenses the Bluetooth intellectual property to all the hw companies in the world that needs it.

Not to mention Ericsson AB that makes the platforms for most of the networks...

Over 30% of all the WCDMA (3G) handsets sold during 2004 was based on
Ericsson technology from Ericsson Mobile Platforms AB (url)

Edit: Fixed a url.

@786KBR: No, not really. The networks and handset manufacturers makes their own UIs from the base they get.
