i would go for 5140i as its has a color screen + gprs + camera. since he's roaming the world, it would be handy to have a mobile phone camera in his pocket so he can always catch great moments in case he left his digicam somewhere else.
I have used my 5210 for 3yrs, the ancestor of 5140i, and i never encountered any problems with it, not to mention the numerous drops.
now i have w800i and im happy with it.

Thanks for all you input and advice. I really appreciate it. I think I will order the 5140i.....only because it has some more features.....like camera and FM radio. Otherwise, I have heard very good things about the "shark" so maybe I'll come back to that one if needed in the future.
