The movie Cannonball Run in the 70's is nice too, but I don't think we can call that a chase, as it's purely a contest. Also the movie TORQUE has some chase/race scenes, this one is for BIKE enthusiast . . . and how can we just forget: 2 Fast 2 Furious (1 and 2) ! But, as I just have recollected some flicks on my mind . . . just now, who can just forget the movie:

GONE IN 60 SECONDS!

For the exhilirating-chases above . . . no one BEATS the 'fighter-plane-chases' on the flick: Pearl Harbor (2001) !

the best chase scene of all time is the final chase scene in The Blues Brothers. Very funny, hundreds of cars trashed, ful of suspense. Just excellent. The second best is the chase scene in the original Gone in Sixty Seconds, which is way better than the more recent version. Third best the scene from Ronin. imho But there are too many awesome car chases to choose from.

Hmmm...tough choice....
From the movies that I ve watched lately, I was quite impressed by the chase sequence in the "The Transporter"... quite slick and well shot....edge of the seat business....and yes,...the "gone in 60 seconds" sequence....
