No auto-focus for K610 though... That's a pity. Sp the camera probably won't be as good as we've become used to.

Where does this leave the K750? If this phone which has a lower designation has better features.
Right now it's a toss up between the small compact K610i and the W900i...decisions, decisions, decisions

According to the SE website, the screen is a TFD, not TFT, I was under the impression, that TFD is one notch down on TFT in terms of screen clarity.

I guess the thread starter wanted to write S///, with the S referring to Sony and the /// referring to Ericsson

it's the natural upgrade to the K600, without a doubt. Nice phone but without auto focus not an option for those after a phone with true digital camera performance and ergonomics. Also, I expect it doesn't have an active lense cover, or am I wrong?
It is an excellent choice for those wanting a small 3G phone with almost the same range of features as a W900
Disappointing about the inclusion of M2 memory, but I guess realistically they need to reduce size of components where-ever possible. I don't really believe they do it to create a market for new format memory as some suggest. The fact is they are constantly pushing the manufacturing envelope. The space taken up by a duo port is substantially larger than an M2 port. Continuing to use the duo port would make the cost of reducing other components (that are already miniaturised as much as current technology allows) much more expensive. The memory port is one of the easiest parts of the phone to miniaturise. SE has held off from introducing micro memory cards for longer than Nokia, Motorola and others, so I guess we can't hold it against them for finally introducing the micro card.

@max_wedge: It doesn't have a lens cover but I still think it's great phone...has got the potential to be a best seller.

WOW
u won't belive me..
today,in another thread (what question whould u ask mr.flint),after iposted my question,in my mind i was wondering if i should also add the question "why doesn't

introduce phones in more colours" and i was thinking like maybe a blood red coloured candy bar would be great.and now, about 6 hs later, they announce 1.
ok..does K610 have autofocus and macromode??does it also have 'walkman' in it?i loved the red colour.
but again as in the M600 thread,i must ask here...after a lot of "orange" in their phones last year, this year seems to be "blue"...look at the M600,u will see blue colour in the front and back.similarly, there is blue colour in the silver K610.what do u think??

Like the press rElease says, this is the successor to the lovely T610. Good job too, no other phone was worthy. ;-)

@brix25, I agree absolutely.
As I said, I don't think it will appeal to those like myself who want a "real" digital camera in thier phone. My phone is my camera, and I use it everday, so I want it to be as good as possible. I don't want to carry a camera AND a phone on me at all times, so the best option is to have a phone like the K750.
However people like me are the minority, there are many more people who would be more than happy with a 2MP, 3GP candybar almost as small as a T610
But that's the beauty of SE's new approach to model releases, they are bringing out handsets for everybody

The T610 is 24mm thick. Is this not thinner? Its brilliant how they managed to shoehorn all that tech.
