@sammy - Looks like that mate. I have a feeling here that 'scanners' will be the NEXT in thing for mobile fones

Next to IRs and BTs . . . .

to be honnest a bar code scanner is pretty useless as though it can probally read what the item is it cannot be used for checking prices, as the prices are linked by the shop to a bar code, if this was not done each store would need its own bar codes for products, so thinking about it it is really stupid.
anyone know how to turn off the nokia keypad thing?

agreed... bar code scanners and PTT... never seen 902 before but the 3230 PTT , neva seen anyone use that or even subscribe to that, i think the service provider is done off with PTT.

H m mm . . . OK, so be it as it may, what do you think will be the NEXT great successor of the Bluetooth Technology then mates

There was a report here back then that

will STOP putting the BT feature on their future fone releases . . .

The barcode scanner only registers the numbers at the bottom of the barcode. It doesn't have like a list of 50 million items...
It is useless though pretty cool.
The 8800 has that same as 8910i, 8850, 8890, 8855 and 8810
I'll have your 8800 thought if you fancy swapping it for a 3200
Most useless feature was the compass on the 5140/i I think, and decibel metre. The temperature metre is cool though.

@vein - What's wrong with the compass on the Nokia 5140 mate

Ya think it DOES NOT work? On the

fone models (msotly recent ones) . . . I find the feature Music DJ - useless . . . as you can download nice sounds (MP3/WAV/Midi) on the fone via BT/IR or thru it's extrenal memory card (if there is) . . .

Nah just the fact A) you have to confiure the compass on the 5140 so it'll most probably become wrong and B) the phone's hardly the most water resistant if you were out trekking in dartmoor anyway!

I find the Nokia 5140 very useful - OUTDOORS, as it's very dependent on it's features down to how it's covers were crafted (material used),

has not released anything similar to this one lately . . . I've seen some rugged/outdoor Siemens fones during the recent past though . . .
