As I see it there are no stupid questions. Surely one of the great things about internet forums is the ability to share knowledge and expertise quickly and easily. Everyone has their own level of knowledge on any given subject - the so-called 'stupid' questioner might be an expert in a dozen fields the rest of us know nothing about.
So, if anyone sees a question posted that they think is stupid, why don't they just ignore it and move on, instead of wasting time and energy slagging someone else off. Nothing puts a newbie off more than reading hostile replies to posts.

It is not a stupid question, however do I agree that it is a basic fact about phones, but we have to remind ourselves that we were not born with all the knowledge that we have right now; what I mean is that there was a time when we ourselves didn't know anything about Symbian and what is the difference between so called "Smart phones" and the normal ones… right? So give him a break.

but come on, any 1 minute of searching would have given the answer to this,
this has got to be the stupidest question i have seen so far on any forums i visit!! why would a symbian OS work on a non Symbian phone!!!!!!!!!!!1
BTW If no one ever asked or answered such a "stupid question" as you put it.... how on earth is he going to search and find it?

K700 is not a smart phone as you may know by now, and it cant run Symbian apps, but there are java apps for just about everything these days like web browsers (Opera mini), organizers, instant messenger clients, e-book readers, financial planners etc… so you wont miss out on much even though you don't have a smart phone.
