Definitely a substitute for a micro or mini hi-fi. It charges your phone as it plays, any calls that come in and the music cuts off for you to answer the phone. But most definitely the sound is amazing. Has anyone else bought this? What do you think?

sound really is great. very crisp and gets loud enough to bother the neighbors. unit is also very attractive, with polished metal sides, brushed steel casing and a very sturdy feel to it. it is also very compact and unobtrusive, less than a foot wide and less than 2 inches tall and deep. this is due to the 3" miniwoofer being housed in a box incorporated with the ac adaptor, which puts out great deep bass. the surround function works very well to widen the sound. it is many times better than the logitech mm50 speakers i have in terms of sound. but i guess the two units arent really intended for the same purpose. a couple of cons are the remote's lack of ffwd/rwd, play, and pause functions which forces you to operate those functions off the phone, which can be awkward as only the fastport holds the phone in place. with no other support, pressing those functions on the phone can easily disconnect the fastport. would be nice if portable, but i guess thats the drawback of having the woofer box. got for $210 USD on tessco.com. se better not ditch the fastport anytime soon...
