A killer phone for me would be a mixture of the k800i and the p990.
something like 3.2 mpixel cam, ms pro duo,3g,touchscreen,30 fps video,mp3 etc etc..all in a style like the s700 or clamshell form.SE have their software sorted out,no other brand has a better menu layout etc than se.They just need to work on some more daring designs in my opinion.

Hi mate if its purely a question of design then I have to agree, some of the new phones by (I am choking saying this!) Nokia are really smart and have a real "Quality look and feel about them" comine some of that with a genius for systems and I recon they would own the market! (perhaps a bit of an exageration!) have a good weekend!

"Killer Phones" are a matter of individual taste and needs.
Complaining about delayed launch dates is a wate of breath.
Having followed the mobile industry since the early 90's I have still to see a launch of a phone being on date. That goes for every single mobile phone manufacturer.
At pre launches and presentations they picture a phone to hit the shelves a few months ahead. If they say Q2 it's bund to be Q3. If they say "early Q2" it's bound to be late Q2.
Promises of dates in this industry has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Not only do they delay it because of "a bug was discovered" but by delaying it a fraction they are able to messure the demand on the phone. That way they see how many phons needs to be produced.
On top of this; A small batch of phones are released first to trigger the market. This small batch is usually ripped off the shelf by those of us who have to be the first with the latest. We are, very often, members of some sort of forum like Esato. We run home, log on and start bragging about it. Questions from other members are answered and comments are made giving the manufacturer a chance to do minor alterations to the SW before the main batch of phones are sent out.
I remember secificly the lauch of the P800; It was two months behind schedual, about 100 phones came to Norway just before Xmas that year, and they didn't even have the Norwegian language as an option. A month later the main batch of phones came and, just about, all the bugs we commented on was gone (and it had Norwegian menus). I was stuck with Swedish menus for another month before the new SW was avalable on Emma.

Dissapointed in ?
Not at all! They are watching their customers through forums and picking up ideas and wishes. That we have plenty of examples on here at Esato.

Well, Truly the two Disappoinments from SE for me are
The Look (Imo SE never looks like the price it costs, I'll tell Nokia is a winner in that case)
The video quality (Just If K800 could do a video of resolution 325x240 I would forget every anger over SE )

imho there's no such thing as a 'killer phone'. There's been breakthrough and innovative phones (such as the T68i, P800, 3310 etc.) but the perfect phone is a myth.

I've had a load of phones, none of which could be described as 'perfect'. I currently have an O2 XDA2s/Imate PDA2K - does almost everything you could want, but rather bulky and battery lasts barely over a day with use, a W800i, excellent phone - screen not a big as the XDA, can't access certain websites like Ebay, but has 2mp cam, I could go on! And people may agree/disagree with me on certain points too.

As tranquil has said, everyone's idea of the 'killer' phone would vary too, what would be perfect for one person would be not so good for others.

I've always been fond of UI.

I wish made all of it's phone models, Quad Band.

Optic zoom should be a part of 's technology. Samsung is ahead of the game on this one.

Samsung has a 10 MP Cam Phone , GET WITH IT !!!

I'm NOT sure if I CAN call it a - dissapointment . . . . as what I don't only like is when they release 'new' models in quick succession - proliferation ! They are evidently following the market-strategy of Nokia here . . . I am very certain, that the 'successor' of the K800i (3.2 MP) will be released less than a year from now ! Time to ROB the Central Bank - again !
