Its on the left of the infra red thing, it went on after my batt was completly dead!!! and when I pressed the power button it started flashing!!

yep.
back on topic....
the LED is also present in k700. w900 has it on the side which shows signal availability, low batt & charging.

same thing happening on my S700 whenever my phone battery becomes empty. i think it's just normal; that blinking red light is an indicator that your phone doesn't have enough battery charge left... in a way, it serves as a reminder that your phone only needs to be charged and isn't going nuts because it won't turn itself on...
