this is my first post in esato.
i am fed up of everyone gushing over the deserving k700i. so was pleasantly surprised to see someone even mentioning the k500i. i own one and i think thr some areas where k500i scores over the k700i.
will post pictures of my k500 soon. have to snap it with my bro's t610.

Sorry to sound negative. I have owned a K508 - until I dropped it in the toilet. I must say that I really liked my k508i and thought it was the best phone in the world at the time. I now own a w800 and have played with a K700. I can not see one reason why anyone would claim the k500 is better in any respect to the k700 - except battery life.

U are right. k500i/k508i is not the best mobile phone. But when you and I bought it, it had the best features for that price. Now k500i is virtually dead cos the price difference between k700 and k500 is very low. I see a lot of new k700 owners these days...
I think there are a few (minor and easily countable with one hand though) areas where k500i is better than k700i. Please note that some of these may be subjective and depends on the individuals.
1. Bigger and brighter screen (agreed the resolution is not as sharp) which is pretty good.
2. UI that is more fresh and a bit faster. I like the bubble in the main menu.
3. Full screen pictures in slide show even for images that are 160x120 pixels.
4. Better fonts which are more readable, especially when dialing long numbers, atleast to my eyes. I think T610 has a similar font. All the recent SE mobiles have fonts similar to the one found in k500i.
5. I can think of nothing else now.
Dont get me wrong after reading all this, I know that k700i is highly superior compared to k500i.

Now,my opinion of the SE k500i is this : -SE k500i was my best phone ever (maybe cose I live in romania & for a 17 year old kid is hard to have a "killing" phone) & was the phone that offered me the satisfaction of a good thing.
originaly I've bought it because I was in loved with him,seeing him on all TV comercials,on all magazines.....It was a star in Romania in 2004....So....I've selled my z200 & bought him.Boy,I was excited!It looked so great,I was falling in love with him day by day seeing that superb screen,loving those curves,that big screen.....
I don't compare my k500i with k700 because when I think of my k500i I wanna take him as it is & not compared with another phone....The reason...for my,my SE k500i is not just a phone......
