Vodafone's release date for the W810i is 1st April, obviously can be delayed, but their intranet says April 1st.

In the USA, MobileBee.com said today:

"Sony Ericsson W810i is a pre-released phone, it\\'s estimated release time is 9 days."

That makes the release date April 1, 2006.

Guys. Guess what happened? This happened yesterday 23.03.06. I got a W810 to use yesterday briefly. Here's how it happened:

I am in Jamaica. I was at my university waiting to get something printed. I saw this guy with what seemed like a black W800, but ofcourse I know that doesn't exist so it must've been a W810. I asked him WHEN it became available cause I sure as hell know it wasn't out yet. He said it was not in Jamaica yet (DUH, probably thinking I was just another phone user, little did he know). So I asked, well then I know that so does that mean it's available in Europe now? He said no. So, I asked him how comes you have that W810 and it is not available yet? He said it was a prototype.

So I said, that means you know someone on the inside. He said that he was from the inside. This is a Jamaican man not anyone else. I wish I had his job. Pity I didn't even exchange contacts with him or nothing. Now I feel bad.

Anyways. I took the phone in hand for a bit. It's nice and all I really like it but there is no BIG difference from the W800 apart from ofcourse the design and the few features they tweaked. I still like it though.

He was shocked and said I was the first person to recognize a phone he had. I guess this means he always has protos carrying around or other high end phones that people in Jamaica wouldn't ordinarily know about.

Finally Orange has given us some hope of seeing this phone soon. They've put it in the '' Coming Soon '' section on the Orange web site. It gives you the option to put your e-mail address in to let you know when its avalible.
