@boba- it depends what your looking for. 5mp upwards seems to be the way to go now enabling one to print larger without suffering from pixelation. If you want a compact then Sony, panasonic, canon, fuji all seem to produce good camera's.

This link will give you a good starting place http://www.steves-digicams.com/best_cameras.html lists what in his opinion are the best performers based on specific categories.

@boba - your welcome mate

To be honest i haven't been looking at the compact market so I'm sure someone here will be able to give you more detail than myself if thats the type of camera you are looking for.

I'm personally looking for a super zoom 5/6mp ideally image stabilization and some manual control (pretty much one down from a full blown Digital SLR).

I'm also very interested in the upcoming Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 which they are calling the worlds first compact super zoom with 10x optical zoom out early in april and is looking very promissing, I'm reading around $350 us dollars see it here

The cannon powershot a610 looks like a nice piece of kit (5mp), producing good picture quality and overall performance from around £155

A good stylish well made point and shoot would be the The Pentax Optio S60 (6mp) From around £155

The Canon IXUS 750, is a very nice looking piece of kit (7mp) that performs very well from what I have read and around £235

All reviewed at http://www.cameras.co.uk/

the only advantage at sony is, that i can put the duo in afone aswell and send the pic via email from anywhere, if it is. sadly no cam accept rs-mmc, what i got in my nokia. i ve been told, that the cams with sd, doesnt take rs-mmc.

my Xacti HD1 (which is a High Def camera and 5.1 megapixel camera in one) uses SD cards and it accepted my transflash card.

I have a T7 aswell, taking the battery out to charge is a pain in the arse, but it is soooo slim so i don't mind too much.
