Shivam...The Indian Gov has alloted the Spectrum to prevent congestion of networks as there has been a rise in subscribers after the Lifetime schemes..The 3 G Spectrum issue has not yet been resolved..The TRAI is still undecided on allotment of the new spectrum or have the operators use the current spectrum to full utilization...!

I would suggest keep checking the COAI ( Cellular Operator Association Of India) website at http://www.coai.in for the news we all so want to hear....!

Well advantages of 3G will be that you will have higher Media content available- You can watch live streaming video's/ Live TV/Faster Connectivity on GPRS-EDGE/ Video Calls- Basically you will have more Media content- Which is not going to be cheap...Somehow apart from Live Video Streaming and Video Calls I rather put content on the phone myself..!

3G is not cheap- The cost of 3G Implementation is very high,The equipment is also not very cheap...So the services whenever they come will be exorbitant to start with..unless them come out with competitive pricing from the start...!

Imagine Video Call ( Local ) - 15 Rs/Min
Normal Call ( Local) - 0.50 p/Min

Still For curiosity sake will try it once...lol

regards
