If the worst comes to the worst, you can stick the phone on Ebay as is, it will be worth something for all the accessories. Also the screen, facia if in good nick (which it sounds like it is), camera unit, joystick unit, etc.
You'd probably get £60-£70 for it, even in it's current state.

hi all
1st things first:
the phone was purchased in dec from a guy on ebay. the phone should be under warranty, i need to see if he has the reciept.
it was locked to t-mobile and i unlocked it myself. original firmware was on it, until i decided to risk updating it
i have called SE - just now - and he says i need to get the receipt and send it off and they will look at it under warranty. i said that i was updating via ther SEUS and it crashed
if i can't get proof of purchase, i'm knackered
and will sell the phone. hopefully getting £70-80 as most things are sealed and phone etc is mint.

Ok here goes.
Look at the date code at the back of the phone, It will look something like 38W05.
This means that the phone was made in week 38 Year 05 (Eg)
Take your phone to a Local Car Phone Warehouse Service Center, Just explain to them that you cant find you receipt, but was told which is fine, that the warranty cn be done on the date code of the phone (As long as its under warranty). Explain to them that the phone no longer works. Just explain that the software crashes or no longer switches on in your case.
If they cant fix it they will send it of.
The other soloution is you can send it of to ACR logistics, Again you dont need the proof of purchase as long as the phone is in warranty, Just put a covering letter explaining agian that you cant find the receipt and that i said it should be ok to use the date code on the phone (As long as its in Warranty).
If you want the address let me know.
All of the above works fine, I know I have just received my K750i on Orange back repaired from ACR. (I have a joystick fault)
Regarding the unlock, They arnt bothered about that and as for the software they will just flash back to the most recent t-mobile firmware.
Hope this helps.

May I also suggest gbrooks3 too...
He has worked on a couple of phones for me and has been a wizard...and very very quick... There is a small charge I believe and you pay the post and packaging both ways...
He returned my phones within 4 days.... Highly recommended....
