Unbranding doesn't unlock the handset, it just removes the exisiting firmware. Unlocking a handset will allow it to accept SIM cards from different networks.

Just like unlocking, won't allow you to use other profiles (at least with Voda) and all features that the phone is capable of (might be limited).
Unbranding will make it as powerful as it can be.

Unbranding a Vodafone W900 doesn't add functionality in all areas. One does gain certain things, but one also loses the ability to turn the 3G component of the W900 off.
Having said that I am still glad that I unbranded my W900.

Hi guys, I got my w900i and i love it, I got it unlocked from voda shite and have now got my orange sim in, main problem i have though is that i cannot use any wap!?
I used it once when i first recieved the settings and now I cant use it at all:( can any 1 help. It just says an error message!
